A new Deputy Rector has been appointed for the college w.e.f Oct 2008. He is Capt O. J. Achimugu, who until then, was a Chief Flying Instructor in the college. He has since assumed duty.

Akwa Ibom Airport Development company has commenced the training of its personnel for the take-off of the Airport project in the college. The areas are: Aviation Security, Air Traffic Engineering, Air Traffic Control and Airport Operations

Engr Victor Nwobia has been appointed as Head, ATE School w.e.f Jan. 2009. He was HOD, Radar Dept and Chief Instructor I, and has since assume duty.

Engr A. A. Onipede has been appointed as Head, Aviation Management School w.e.f Jan 2009, which has newly been established. He was formerly Head, ATE School and  has since assumed duty
